Opposite the picturesque Engadin village of S-chanf, a pony lift leads up the hill. Here it’s not about speed, quite the opposite: the Bügls slope is devoted entirely to youngsters trying on skis or a snowboard for the first time, practising their snowplough turns or summoning up the courage to make their first little jump over a bump. Not far away is the finish point for the Engadin Ski Marathon – so perfect cross-country ski trails are guaranteed.
