Just as the wild Diavolezza is a star attraction in winter for mountain sports enthusiasts, in summer she also promises exhilarating experiences for nature-loving adventure seekers. Rock climbing, glacier treks, summit ascents: you can enjoy just about every alpine thrill on her slopes. Sore muscles? Relax and re-energise in the open-air hot tub 3,000 m above sea level!
You love mountain hikes, but perhaps you love mountain climbs even more? Does your heart leap at the sight of a rock face? Then you’ll adore the Diavolezza/Lagalb region! The via ferratas and rock climbs in the area – for example, on the Piz Trovat, Munt Pers, Piz Cambrena and Piz Palü – promise endless thrills for experienced mountain enthusiasts. The exhilarating routes (graded medium-difficult to demanding, both in terms of technique and level of fitness required) offer exciting challenges along with spectacular views of the majestic mountain scenery.
You can enjoy the exquisite pleasure of dancing with 3,000-metre peaks without having to be an experienced mountaineer or rock climber. For some of the summit ascents, all you need is a sure foot – for example, to hike the scenic marked trails up the Munt Pers or the Sass Queder. These two easy routes are also ideal for families: both start at the Diavolezza cable car summit station, so the adventure begins with a panoramic ride up on the cable car.
Welcome on a mesmerising journey through the Bernina Glaciers landscape: a real world of adventure! Start at the Diavolezza cable car base station, where the photopoint offers the chance to shoot a summit snap as a taster of the mountain thrills to come. Later, at the Berghaus Diavolezza summit hotel, you can print the picture as a postcard or send it at the hashtagstation. But back to the base station, where the audio tour begins, and with it a trip in time to the 19th Century: gripping stories about glacier races, first ascents and pioneering adventures bring the exciting history of the Diavolezza dramatically to life. For another exciting photo, scale the 5-metre-high snow mountain at the summit station: nothing virtual about this, it’s the real thing!
A she-devil without fire and flames? Unthinkable! So why not enjoy an unforgettable high-altitude barbecue picnic with family or friends at 3,066 metres above sea level? The glorious 40-minute walk from the Berghaus Diavolezza to Europe’s highest barbecue picnic site with a basket full of tasty treats promises high spirits for visitors of all ages – along with a hearty appetite! We will be happy to organise the whole experience for you and can pack a basket complete with wood & firelighters, meat & sauce, salad & pretzel, dessert & drinks. (Price for 2 people: CHF 130 including return cable car ride or CHF 90 without cable car tickets. Reservations required by phone: +41 81 839 39 00 or e-mail: berghaus@diavolezza.ch)
For another bewitching experience on the Diavolezza, try a dip in Europe’s highest open-air hot tub, as invigorating as an enchanted fountain of youth. The views would bowl you over if you were not already stretched out in the blissfully warm water: this is the most heavenly anti-stress treatment you could imagine.
