The trigger was the dams being in need of rehabilitation. But instead of building something artificial out of nature, here, nature was created again out of something artificial. Since the end of 2020, the work has been completed; in the meantime, the Inn River has taken over construction and continues to shape the landscape with its high and wild waters. People who made this multi-million francs project " Inn Revitalization near Bever" possible share their experiences with visitors today. They tell stories about deer and ermine, report on the river heron and kingfisher, show gentians and laurel willows, and recall the highly complex construction period.
It is fascinating how quickly nature has returned to the newly created floodplain! A walk along the river is worthwhile, also for families with children.
"Animal of the Year," rare birds, El Dorado for botanists, Fischer's Fritz - everything can be found here at the Inn. Almost half of all Swiss animals and plants can be found in the floodplain. Hardly any other place is so rich in nature. Step inside. Sit down on the river bank. Linger in the shade of an old larch tree. Photograph the flowers or the play of light and shadow on the river. There is so much to discover!
