The glacier experience trail on the Diavolezza
Visitors on this high-alpine trail get close up to the glacier: both spatially – the trail leads you to the lateral moraine of the Pers Glacier – and mentally, as you can learn a lot about the Bernina Glaciers mountain world along the way.
The experience trail starts and ends at the Diavolezza mountain station (2,978 m). The mountain hiking trail meanders back down towards the Pers Glacier, continues along part of its lateral moraine and then goes back up to Diavolezza.
Five stations address the changes to the largest Grisons glaciers and the visible changes in the sensitive alpine room. The explanations are summarised in a booklet that is available from the valley and mountain stations. The “Glacier Experience Trail” is the practical supplement to the “VR Glacier Experience” in the visitor centre at the Diavolezza valley station.
