Bike tips in the Bernina Glaciers experience

Everyone can find their source of happiness at the Bernina Glaciers experience because the variety of the extensive and well-signposted mountain bike routes has something to offer every taste. Biking pleasure on well-maintained trails, bike transport, varied routes and fantastic panoramas.

Tip: 1 Bernina Express Tour

The legendary Bernina Express mountain bike route takes its name from the train on the Rhaetian Railway, which travels over the Bernina Pass and is both varied and inspiring. The return journey by train from Poschiavo is part of this tour, which connects Pontresina with the southern Val Poschiavo. Alternative from Ospizio Bernina: Poschiavino Trail.

Tip: 2 Bernina – Forcola di Livigno

Here you’ll find a moderately difficult, mainly flowing high mountain trail. Short key passages will put your riding technique to the test, but it’s mostly a genuine pleasure trail. The journey with the Rhaetian Railway is an adventure in itself.

Tip: 3 Pontresina – Val da Fain – Livigno – Pass Chaschauna – S-chanf – Pontresina

A challenging tour in the border region between the Engadin and Livigno. The tour goes through wildly romantic landscapes and offers unique views of the duty-free village of Livigno.

The tour starts at the Pontresina station and goes towards the Bernina Pass. At the Bernina Suot station, an alpine road branches off into the Val da Fain. The road goes gradually down into the valley and up to the Alp La Stretta. This is then followed by one single trail up to the pass. The descent to the Livigno pass road requires ability as you go downhill to Livigno. The trail leads to the village in the Valle di Federia. A zig-zag gravel road takes you up to the Rifugio Cassana before you reach the Pass Chaschauna. The subsequent descent also requires some experience. At the Alp Chaschauna, the trail joins the alpine road that leads to S-chanf. From here, the tour takes you along the signposted Inn Valley Trail to the starting point in Pontresina.
