The legendary Maloja wind allows wonderful sailing and windsurfing regattas even in the middle of summer, when other places are experiencing a lull. At 1,800 metres above sea level, the other Engadin lakes are blessed with fantastic wind conditions, with speeds of between 3 and 6 Beaufort. The season highlights are the Swiss, European and sometimes even the World Championships, which are held on the lakes in Silvaplana and St. Moritz.
